Welcome the joining of the new department assistant (9-8-2004)

Ms. Li-Shuan Wong is a special assistant for the National Science Council. She is responsible for the management, maintenance and acquisition of computer equipments. In addition, she assists faculty members in handling computer issues and other department affairs. Besides, because Ms Hsiang-Ling Shih will be leaving our department to start her PhD program in the Department of Applied Mathematics of National Sun Yat-Sen University, her last day with our department will be on September 1. Ms Shu-Han Ye, the new hire, will be assuming Ms. Shih’s responsibilities in multimedia development project, an initiative by the Ministry of Education, to promote the fundamentals of Mathematics Education. Please welcome Ms. Wong and Ms Ye to our staff team.

Professor Wen-Chang Huang was appointed to the Vice President for Academics of National University of Kaohsiung. (9-8-2004)

Professor Huang was appointed to the Vice President for Academics and will be officially starting his position on September 7. Congratulations to Professor Wong! It is foreseeable that the academic environment will be greatly improved and led to outstanding achievements with Professor Wong’s leadership.

2004 Online Advisor Selection System was activated (7-14-2004)

The Advisor Self-Selection System will be incorporated into the department’s website and will be available until September 10. Please feel free to use the system to select your advisor from your favorite (or least disliked) faculty members. The department will assign advisors to individuals who have not chosen.
