The strategic directions for development are set to probability and statistics, combinational mathematics, and scientific computing. In order to train for cross-functional experts with hands-on experience for future industries, the department not only plans to strengthen theories but also to encourage students to choose an elective course from majors in Physics, Biology, Economics and Finance, and Electrical Engineering. Moreover, the students are expected to participate in research projects initiated by National Science Council or the related industries. Through the multi-dimensional curriculum from the department, students are encouraged to diversify their learning efforts and their professional knowledge.
